Robo/FX to Shotgun user utility v1.1
Copyright (c)1996 Heavenware Software
All Rights Reserved!
Shotgun is Copyright (C)1994-1996 GUNN Data Systems
This is a simple, down and dirty utility that will convert all of your
Robo users to Shotgun format.
This version correct the run-time error 215 some people reported.
Your Shotgun user data file is saved as USERS.BBS and must be in your
\SHOTGUN\DATA directory. This utility will not place your NEW user data
file into the right directory. You must move the file manually.
In order for this utility to have any chance at working, your Robo
user base must be in 1.04 format. It will convert it to Shotgun v1.30
format which should be compatible with earlier versions of Shotgun.
I said "SHOULD BE!", not will be.
The specs for Shotgun were not released until v1.30b, so I have no way
of telling what was changed between v1.22 and 1.30b.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------
To run this utility, simply put it in the same directory as your
ROBOUSER.DAT and type FX2SG. There's no delays, no nags.
This program is FREEWARE, and as such you are free to use it as much
as you want or make copies for whomever you wish. I don't want any money
for it, but I do hold the rights to this program.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------
Also, please note that because of some of the differences and
incompatibilities between Shotgun's format and RoboBOARD/FX's, you
may find that you will have to do some editing of your user base
manually.
This utility was not written to be perfect, it was designed as a
Quick and Dirty utility, and that's exactly what it is.
Please backup your ROBOUSER.DAT file prior to running FX2SG.EXE.
I was successful in converting the data file here, but you never know
when something might go wrong and I don't want anyone coming back to me
complaining. I warned you upfront.
